Designed to build strength in agricultural communities across Ontario, Agriculture Wellness Ontario (AgWO) is dedicated to providing free, educational and supportive
mental health resources, tailored to this population.
The agricultural community faces unique stressors and barriers to accessing mental health support. AgWO’s goal is to connect Ontario’s agricultural community with appropriate resources including tailored education and support to build a stronger and healthier community.
AgWO’s suite of free programming includes:
- The Farmer Wellness Initiative, a free individual counselling service
- The Guardian Network, a volunteer suicide prevention network
- In the Know, a mental health literacy training tailored to the ag community
- Growth Workshops, quick practical mental health workshops in an hour or less
- International Agricultural Worker Wellness Program, resources and workshops tailored
to Ontario’s international agricultural worker community
AgWO is managed by Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario Division, in partnership with other stakeholders in the agricultural community.
This project is funded in part by the Governments of Canada and Ontario under the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP), a five-year, federal-provincial-territorial initiative.
